EHEDG at the 8th International ISEKI-Food Conference
EHEDG was pleased to attend the 8th International ISEKI-Food Conference back in June, hosted by the University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal.
EHEDG was especially proud to see our very own Treasurer and chair of the Chocolate Working Group Dr. Matilda Freund contribute to the conference programme with an engaging presentation on Hygienic Design and Food Safety. Drawing on EHEDG's expertise and mission, she highlighted the essential role of hygienic engineering in safeguarding food safety, improving operational performance, and supporting the transition towards more sustainable food systems.
Dr. Freund continued her participation with a panel discussion on Responsible Food Production and Consumption, where she discussed how meaningful progress depends on bringing together expertise from across the food sector.
Throughout the conference, we showcased two key EHEDG initiatives:
- The EHEDG World Congress 2026, where attendees learned about the upcoming programme, networking opportunities, and expert-led sessions dedicated to hygienic engineering and food safety.
- Our new university collaboration project, highlighting EHEDG's commitment to strengthening partnerships with higher education institutions and supporting the next generation of hygienic engineering professionals through education, research, and industry collaboration.
The conference provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, establish new connections, and engage in discussions on the role of hygienic engineering in supporting safe, sustainable, and innovative food systems.
