GL 65 Sampling Systems For Representative Liquid Sampling
This document highlights the hygienic design of sampling systems (sampling valves, couplings, connections and accessories) and their correct installation, operation and maintenance. The information describes how to obtain samples that are representative of the liquid product contained in the process equipment, without backcontaminating the process. The complete sampling process is described: from Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) and/or Sterilising-In-Place (SIP) of the sampling valve, to withdrawing the sample and bringing it safely to the laboratory.
A brief description of septum ports is included. However, the focus in this Guideline is on systems using sampling valves.
