EHEDG is pleased to announce the establishment of a new Working Group dedicated to developing a Position Paper on Hygienic Design and Food Safety Considerations for Additive Manufactured (3D Printed) Components in Food Processing.

As additive manufacturing (3D printing) becomes increasingly adopted for food processing equipment, tooling, spare parts and food-contact components, there is a growing need for practical guidance on its hygienic design and safe application. This Position Paper will provide a framework to support industry in implementing additive manufacturing technologies without compromising hygienic design, cleanability, mechanical integrity or food safety.

To ensure the Position Paper reflects a broad range of expertise and practical experience, we invite specialists from across industry and academia to join this collaborative Working Group.
