Hygienic Design for Safe Dry Processes​ | New EHEDG Webinar

Low-moisture and dry particulate foods were long considered safe, as they do not support microbial growth. However, experience has shown that pathogens such as Salmonella can survive in dry environments, posing significant food safety risks. At the same time, manufacturers must balance these risks with the need for improved operational efficiency.

These challenges have highlighted the need for practical, risk-based guidance for hygienic design in dry material handling.

The EHEDG Working Group ‘Dry Materials Handling’ is finalising the new, soon-to-be-published version of EHEDG Guideline 22 (GL 22). The guideline provides clear principles for hygienic design, material selection, cleaning strategies (dry or wet), and validation of cleaning effectiveness, based on a risk-based approach rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.

Join us for this expert-led webinar, hosted by Edyta Margas, Global Head of Food Safety at Bühler Group, and Mieke Heymans, Niche Manager Specialised Nutrition at J-TEC Material Handling. Both members of the EHEDG Working Group responsible for drafting this guideline.
