Industry Interaction and Knowledge Exchange

EHEDG Bulgaria participated in the “Dairy Expo Sofia 2025” exhibition held from 12–15 November at Inter Expo Center, Sofia. The booth was positioned in a central and highly visible location, ensuring a continuous flow of professional visitors relevant to the food industry.

During the event, several meetings were held with companies such as Hrainvest HMC, Lacrima Dairy, DEP Company, Food Safety Academy, Mator, the Bulgarian Tea Company, and others. The discussions indicated a general interest in hygienic design principles and provided an opportunity to introduce the mission of EHEDG as well as the framework for membership and certification. Overall, the conversations suggested potential avenues for future dialogue and possible engagement with EHEDG standards.

Further professional exchange took place with existing EHEDG members, including TAPFLO Bulgaria and Donido, focusing on best practices in hygienic engineering. We also held an in-depth discussion at the booth of NK Technology, together with representatives of PolySto Group and ATT Inox — including Mr. Herwig Nollet (PolySto), member of the EHEDG Guideline 44 Working Group, and Mr. Jurij Hawrylak (ATT Inox) — who demonstrated hygienic flooring, wall cladding and drainage solutions and discussed key aspects of EHEDG Guideline 44. Mr. Jurij Hawrylak from ATT Inox also shared insights from the recently held EHEDG Congress in Krakow, where they participated as organizers.

Additionally, EHEDG Bulgaria was invited to attend a presentation on “Climate Change and Food Quality”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva (UNWE Bulgaria, Chair of Club 9000). At the end of the session, we were given the opportunity to briefly present the mission and activities of EHEDG to the audience.

Overall, the exhibition resulted in high-quality contacts, strengthened cooperation with existing members, and opened new perspectives for expanding EHEDG’s presence among food industry stakeholders in Bulgaria.
