European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG), Chair Regional Section SA, Peet Grobler had the honour of presenting at the recent Woolworths Suppliers Food Safety Day.

Founded in Cape Town in 1931, Woolworths SA is South Africa's largest retailer with more than 700 store locations throughout South Africa and 10 other African countries. The retailer also has a multichannel focus, with an online presence across its major brands. This year, Woolworths hosted a supplier food safety day with participants from approximately 400 food manufacturing facilities at the head office in Cape Town. The purpose of the day is to focus on pathogen and segregation control in production. "We are all facing many challenges that put our products at risk, so the purpose of the day is to share best practices and innovations to address these risks," said Alison Pohl, Head of Technology, Trade, Woolworths Foods.
