A full compliance and hygienic assessment of a large bakery group in South Africa

Together with our colleagues from Germany (EHEDG associated and Members) and OFT Group (EHEDG member), EHEDG SA conducted a full compliance and hygienic assessment of a large bakery group in South Africa. Using the EHEDG guideline document (No. 55) as a base provided the customer with good insight into the requirements and feedback was provided in a formal report with follow-up meetings.

 

Featured in the Food and Beverage Reporter (FBR) Industry magazine

In 2020 the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) published a high-level set of hygienic design benchmarking requirements with the objective of enhancing food safety from farm to fork. Regarding that, EHEDG welcomes this GFSI initiative and would like to provide support to its stakeholders in interpreting and applying the requirements of scopes JI and JII. Webinars 

EHEDG presented at a webinar hosted by Enterprises University of Pretori

In a collaboration between EHEDG Belgium and EHEDG South Africa, we created Hygienic Design awareness and promoted the upcoming Advanced Hygienic Design Training course. The course will be launched in November. For more information, you can find it here.

 

 

 

EHEDG South Africa, the University of Pretoria, and the Dairy Standards Agency collaborated with joint webinars.

The webinars covered topics of Hygienic Design in the Dairy and related industries including the methodology and importance of CIP verifications and Validations. EHEDG guidelines 44 and 45. The webinars can be found below:

Congresses 

Exhibiting at the South African Association for Food Science and Technology (SAAFoST) 25th Biennial Congress and exhibition in Cape Town

From 28th – 30th August 2023. The award-winning Cape Town International Convention Centre hosted local and international delegates at the backdrop of the iconic Table Mountain. The theme for the congress was “Future Foods: Smarter and More Sustainable Solutions”, which was a clarion call to explore sustainable solutions to the many issues food professionals face to provide healthy food, that is safe, affordable, and delicious. Congress 2023 brought together scientists, scholars, and students from the Universities and the Food Industry to present or exhibit ongoing research activities and hence foster research relations between the Universities and the Industry. EHEDG South Africa was happy to have a stand and be part of the congress.
