EHEDG Membership

Companies or individuals may become EHEDG members. Individual and company members are invited to join the General Assembly held once every two years during the conference

Individual Membership

EHEDG has currently over 350 Individual members. Working Group (WG) membership is open to all interested persons. Members have the option to join the activities of his/her regional section.

EHEDG members are individuals from  :

  • companies manufacturing food and food equipment
  • companies supplying engineering services
  • scientific and research organisations
  • health authorities

Benefits for members:

  • free copy of the Annual Report
  • Up to 50% discount on the sales price of the EHEDG guidelines
  • Discount on conference/workshop fees including up to 50% discount on the EHEDG Annual Symposium fee>
  • Discount on EHEDG sponsored and other relevant publications
  • participating in one working group and joining activities of the relevant regional section. 

Members can also be Working Party (WP) member.  This means having the commitment,  time and expertise to contribute in developing or writing the guideline, and to attend meetings for the purpose.  The WG Chair decides when the Working Party is complete, ie. with the required expertise and balance of countries/interests, to complete the work at hand.  True WP Members are acknowledged as co-authors of the document. 

Corresponding member.  Receives minutes of WG meetings and updates on progress of work.

Company Membership

EHEDG company members are committed to the highest standards of food safety within their company and strive to improve the overall image of the industry in the eyes of the consumer.  The use of the EHEDG sponsor logo is a statement of this commitment.Through the network within our organisation, company members can promote their views in as far as they support EHEDG objectives.  They can influence trends and earn international recognition for their efforts.  The annual contribution of company members depends on the company turnover in food-related business. 

Contributions are based on annual company turnover in food-related business and range from EURO 500 to 10,000.

Company membership includes at least one free individual member in 2 subgroups and is limited to the country or location of the company that registers as a member.

Benefits for members:

  • Use of registered EHEDG Sponsor logo on stationery, etc, after signing a contract, which specifies the conditions for its use.  For example, equipment manufacturers may not use the Sponsor logo to indicate that a product is certified.  Click here to see the logo.
  • Use of company member's logo or name on EHEDG conference programmes, brochures, etc
  • Free copy of EHEDG guidelines on CD-ROM and other EHEDG publications (one language)
  • Free copy of the Annual Report
  • One complimentary copy of the book "Hygiene in Food Processing", edited by H Lelieveld et al, Woodhead Publishing, 2003.
  • Up to 4 free membership(s) in one Working Group and free registration of at least one company representative to the EHEDG conference.

For €500 contribution, the company gets a free CDROM of 3 guidelines or updates of their choice per year. All other benefits apply.
