Introduction of the EHEDG training programme
Assurance of quality and safety are necessary for the continued good reputation of foodstuffs. A prerequisite for this is the correct hygienic design and maintenance of these production systems. The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) has published guidance documents on proper hygienic design in different areas of food production.
In order to achieve acceptable safety and quality of foodstuffs, training and education in hygienic engineering and design is necessary for all levels of employees in organisations concerned with the provision, maintenance or operation of food manufacturing systems.
This training programme provides the basis for a common European education and qualification in hygienic design.
